If messenger sound is still not working after following the steps above, kindly turn off Battery Saver, and then disable Data Saver as well. You can find these two options in the quick-setting panel, just swipe down the panel and disable them.

Sometimes a minor problem in settings can result in no sound in Facebook messenger video. One such reason is that the sound may be muted on your Facebook App. Whenever the video is playing, notice if there's an "x" symbol along with the Volume Option. Check the option and adjust the volume according to your choice. Now, check the Facebook Messenger App sound and whether it's working.

You can solve messenger call sound not working errors by trying these straightforward and effective fixes. But, frequently, some minor glitches mess up and cause this common issue. So, try them all to have a carefree video calling!

This doesn't work. Facebook no longer has a "notification sound" option in their settings. You can change the ringtone, but not the notification tone. You can change the Android settings notification for the app, but Facebook still assigns their infernal Ding to each conversation. The only way I've found to change it is to go into the settings of each. And. Every. Conversation. One by one. Facebook is terrible. Update your article.

Facebook Messenger (officially known as just "Messenger") is an excellent app for instant messaging, sharing images, videos, audio clips, and group chats. Initially, the app was only available for Android and iOS, but now it can be used on Windows as well by downloading it from the Microsoft Store. However, sometimes you may run into issues with the app working on Windows PC.

This might sound odd, but Facebook Messenger might not work if the system is set to an incorrect date and time. This is because Messenger checks if its own time and date are in sync with Window's own. If there's any difference, it'll refuse to work.

The problem with that is the "Hands-Free Device" has only one sound quality option, 8 KHz, which is nowhere near the 44.1 KHz default of the "Stereo Headphones" output device. When I select the "Stereo Headphones" device the sound is great, until I open either of the mentioned voice chat applications, whereupon I can't hear anything until I close that program. Also, my mic does not work unless I re-set the communications device or default device to the hands-free option. If I set the hands-free device as the communications device, everything in the voice chat app works, but no other program has any sound.

I believe this is because the "Hands-Free" and "Stereo Headphones" devices are two separate Bluetooth services, and the Hands-Free device is activated whenever the voice chat is engaged, and remains that way until the "call" is over. I realize the "Communications" tab in the sound control panel is supposed to fix this sort of thing, but it changes nothing in this scenario.

Notice the bottom check mark is Stereo, and the phone icon is Hands-Free. For microphones like this, Hand-Free also uses Mono playback, which typically sounds bad. It can only use Mono/Voice/Hands-Free or Stereo (no voice) at one time. If an application can use voice, it will typically turn off stereo but Mono won't work, and the sound will cut out. You need to set Hands-Free/Mono as default, and deal with the poor sound quality.

As you learned in the previous tutorial, you can disable and turn off Facebook Chat sounds, which are enabled by default; when you do, Facebook will remember your preferences, and automatically apply them whenever you login to your account, even from another location, different browser, or other computer. The advantage of this approach is that you do not need to mute chat sounds whenever you use Facebook from another location, but the disadvantage is that you might not want your new chat messages to play a sound when you login to Facebook at work, but you may have a new chat sound play in the background when you are using Facebook at home. In this tutorial, we will show you how to re-enable and turn back on the new message sound for Facebook Chat, in just a few clicks.

Open a chat with a friend, and then hit the thumbs-up button in the toolbar above the text field. If you tap that button, you'll send a quick thumbs-up to your friend, but if you hold down on it before releasing, you'll enlarge the thumbs-up and can send that instead. This works with whatever emoji you have selected for the chat.

This one currently only works on Android. Open a photo in messenger by clicking the gallery button to open your camera roll, then click the edit button. A list of options will open on the upper right side of the screen. Select the magic wand-shaped icon at the bottom of the screen, and you can select from any of the available Snapchat-like filters that are available.

Hi guys. I have a Samsung Note 3. I'm having an issue which started recently where Facebook Messenger video messages that I send do not have any sound. When I press and hold the video record button in the app and then release the button to replay a recording there is a slight click sound and then total silence throughout the video. Oh my dad that the camera works perfectly in the phone and all videos work as they should. I've done absolutely everything I can think of including uninstalling both Facebook and the messenger app, reinstalling, clearing cache for the apps, clearing cache for the phone, wiping your phone to factory settings and reinstalling everything and a few others to no avail. Any ideas you may have would be greatly appreciated as I'm totally fed up with this issue. TIA

I have my chat sound notification box enabled but still do not hear any sounds when someone chats in zoom. Here is a screenshot of my settings. All other chimes and notifications are working - like when someone enters or leaves a meeting.

Is there a way to enable chat sounds while in a meeting? We have online students chatting but I also have a live class I need to be able to hear when they enter something in the chat. Is there a setting to help with this?

I don't accept this as a solution either. There should be a sound for chat notifications with the settings I've selected. I have another Mac running the same OS and it works on that one but not this one. It also works for my colleague who is on a PC. There must be some reason for this.

I am experiencing the same issue. I am on a Mac Zoom Version: 5.9.6 (4993) and I get no audio notification when I receive a zoom chat. This functionality was working in the past. but isn't anymore. I do get a sound alert if I am invited into a Zoom meeting but no "Ding" when I receive a chat.

I am not understanding the response. I have the same question as above. I have "play sound when I receive a new message" selected but for some reason I hear nothing. This used to "ding" when someone messaged me in chat...so you know you have a message...now nothing. Please advise how to get this working again

What I am experiencing is that I will hear an "ding" when a new chat message is received only if the zoom application isn't in the fore-front program (i.e. it is minimized to the tool bar area) and then only if the person sending the chat message isn't the "active" contact. For me, zoom is a primary communication tool so the program is always active and open on a separate screen. This means I only know if I have a new message is if I glance at it and see the red dot indicator for new messages. I wish it operated more similarly to outlook which makes an audible sound notification for any newly received email regardless of whether it is the active program or somewhere in the background. New message = audible notification...wish new chat also = audible notification...

With every Galaxy phone I have owned since the S5 I have been able to have different notification sounds for different apps, for instance I set a custom notification sounds for email, sms, gmail, and several other apps. That way if my phone was not in my hand and work email came in through Exchange I would here the specific ringtone and know to check it. However if the sound was for gmail of facebook messanger maybe I would wait to check it.

While you want to be clear that your Facebook Messenger chatbot is a bot, you want it to sound like your bot. Use turns of phrase your customers expect from your website, and maintain the same general tone. If your brand is casual and friendly, your bot should be too.

Heyday is a conversational ai chatbot that works as a Facebook Messenger bot built for customer support and sales. It automatically connects to your product catalog to provide personalized product recommendations to customers.

If you have the solid coding knowledge required to code your own Facebook chatbot, Facebook provides plenty of resources to get you started. And they are always working with their developer community to come up with new ideas to improve the user experience.
